5 Ways to Take Care of Yourself At Home

In light with everything going on now, we've been spending most of our days at home. How have you adjusted to the new normal? Some are thriving and enjoying the extra time on their hands. They're now able redecorate, catch up on shows and even take up new hobbies. While others are still struggling getting used to the work from home set-up and not being able to freely do the activities they used to do such as going to the gym, traveling, and dining out. The past few months have been a challenge to say the least. It's during times like these that self-care is most important. Make sure to take care of yourself mentally, physically and spiritually.

We've listed five ways you can take care of yourself at home.
1. Pamper yourself
When you look good, you feel good. Now that you have extra time to spare, you no longer have to rush. In the morning, you can spend extra 10 minutes in the shower and do a body scrub to relax. At night, you can add new skincare step. Try an Adore Cosmetics Apple Peel- Off Mask.

2. Eat healthy

When we're busy at work, sometimes we skip meals or grab something quick like fast food. Those have no nutritional value and can cause sickness. Why not use this time to whip yourself something healthy in the kitchen? Even if you're not a seasoned chef, there are easy recipes you search for online.

3. Exercise daily

Moving your body boosts your immunity. Physical activity may help flush bacteria out of the lungs and airways. This may reduce your chance of getting a cold, flu, or other illness. It also sends endorphins which uplift your mood.

4. Communicate with your loved ones

We are naturally social beings. While we can't see each other face-to-face, we can still stay connected through technology. Social connection can lower anxiety and depression, help us regulate our emotions, lead to higher self-esteem and empathy, and actually improve our immune systems.

5. Spend time to reflect

It's hard to process what's happening. Every day, there's always devastating news. Lots of people are getting sick, businesses are closing down, and there's so much talk of politics. It can get overwhelming. Take the time to reflect on what you're feeling. You can try meditating, writing on a journal, or talking with a mentor.
